Ben Edwards wins K-1 OCNA 8 man 2010

Canberra came alive as home town hero Ben Edwards set the ring alight with three back to back wins-- all in one night to claim the K-1 Oceania qualfying leg for 2010. In the process he booked an automatic entry to the K-1 final 16 eliminator in Seoul-Korea, later this year.

Paul Slowinsky who was widely tipped to win the tourney fell victim in the final to a man who seemed destined to take out the plum and all by way of knock outs. 

The results are as follows: 

Opening Fight 1 - Reserve WGP Fight - Gus Jones Jnr (AUS) v Henery Peters (AUS) - 3 x 3 min K-1 rules = Henry Won via 1st round K.O

Opening Fight 2 - Josh Tonna v Glen Purvis - 3 x 3 min K-1 rules = Josh Won via Split Points Decision

Opening Fight 3 - Brani Zec v Fadi - 3 x 3 min K-1 rules = Brani Zec Won unanimous points

F 2 WGP Block A - Cedric NTG (AUS) v Tafa Misapati (NZL) - 3 x 3 min K-1 rules = Tafa Won via unanimous decision

F 3 WGP Block B - Ben Edwards (AUS) v Faisal Zakaria (SUD / NZL) - 3 x 3 min K-1 rules = Ben Won via 1st Round K.O

F 4 WGP Block C - Steve Bonner (AUS) v Thor Hoopman (AUS) - 3 x 3 min K-1 rules =Hoopman Won via Unanimous decision

*Thor is injured, so Cedric replaces him in Semi Final 2.
