Nathan Corbett film debut with “Raven” & Bruce Hopkins Nathan Corbett is about to bring sexy back to Oceania fight sport, especially for adrenaline junkies who are over Jackie Chan and Jean Claude Van-Dame. Instead of the last action hero, he could very well be the next—adding to an illustrious list of kick fighters who have graced the silver screen.
Playing the character of his own ring name (Carnage) a footballer/sportsman starring along side pro wrestler and WWE star Raven-Scott Levy who plays “Resnik” in the movie and “Raynor”, a detective played by Kiwi star Bruce Hopkins is set for a later release in United States. Raven (Scott Levy) is an ex-WWE champion and known more so for his “barbed-wire” battle with the “Sandman” in ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling). Bruce Hopkins, who does a fantastic impression of Jack Nicholson known for his roles in Lord of the Rings part II and III make Corbett’s movie debut all the more significant. This in a year when K-1 star and three-time Grand Prix champ Semmy Schilt starring with Jason Stratham on Transporter 3. Corbett who is seemingly running out of opponents to beat and knock out at will enters into a lucrative area of his career, where an Aussie high flyer who is a bonafide world champion in Muay Thai, could very well become an action super star giving kick fighting a lift, building on the momentum it already has. Potentially slated and publicly baited by Dutch sensation Tyronne Spong of Holland, a show down looms between these two Cruiserweights-- but will have to wait until the fight is finalised in concrete. Speaking to roguemag.com, producer Judd Tilyard was delighted at the involvement and casting of Corbett. “He’s a great guy to work with and we gave consideration on how he could work around his training. We will release later this year in United States and this movie should do well in the American market. It’s got some realistic action which is first class and the cast is top notch. Nathan worked so well and fitted in; I am really happy and excited”. Further adding “The fight scene where they go hell for leather is one of the best I have seen and worked on. It is almost the real deal. Champs like Nathan don’t have to make it up, it’s in him and he worked out brilliantly!” A climatic fight scene which involves the trademark knee and elbow strikes from Corbett with Raven and a host of “footballers” will highlight a full on, adrenaline fuelled few minutes which will etch in to the memory of Oceania and global fight fans and followers of “Carnage”. Being no stranger to danger and pain, all stunt work and scenes were done in person with no extras required. Hopefully this heralds a new chapter in Corbett’s career, he is very marketable with his movie star good looks and damaging elbows, watch this space. Here comes Nathan “Carnage” Corbett on the silver screen…. Finally we will have actors who are real men, remember those days of the good old Spaghetti westerns! Don’t forget, watch out for the British filly Kym Jackson, she’s hot… Picture Courtesy of Dru Brown © visit www.sleeper-film.com |
